Interesting time of the year for sports.
With school I have had to abandon basketball and baseball because of the burden of time to be a fan, plus writing about the Arizona Cardinals and “covering” (I use that term extremely loosely) the NFL Draft on a near year around basis.
It has made it easier to see how fandom works from the outside and see how much things like Devin Booker’s historic night makes some hard core fans uncomfortable.
Their claim, Booker didn’t score 70 within the flow of the game and of course, the Suns lost. My counter, how do you score an insane amount of points within the flow of the game? Eventually if you are hot enough, you begin to just take shots, even when covered.
I feel like the loss isn’t exactly news, the Celtics may be the second best team in the east... The Suns are battling to be the worst team in the west. It would have been great to see 70 points in a win, but the two dudes they found wondering around outside of the arena they suited up before the game started probably shouldn’t have been expected to contribute much.
Anyways, that is my take.
