With the unknown of the 2018 season and beyond, the Arizona Cardinals have really dug into the 2017 quarterback class to decide if they like any of these players coming out.
We know they have met with or been to see Nathan Peterman in person via Tom Moore.
They saw Mitch Trubisky up close with Byron Leftwich and he is on Steve Keim’s shortlist list... Whatever that means.
The Cardinals took the whole top of the organization to Lubbock, Texas to see Patrick Mahomes II.
Now, they have their meeting with Davis Webb.
This is not surprising. The question becomes, what do they think of Webb and how high would they be willing to take him in the 2017 NFL Draft?
From the rumors, Webb has been told by numerous teams he will be taken in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Do the Arizona Cardinals like Webb enough to look at him in the first round?
Would he be worth a first round pick?
Our own Dink graded Webb out a bit lower than Mahomes, Deshaun Watson or DeShone Kizer and Trubisky.
In the “sauces” department, I have been told by two people who do not know each other in anyway that the Cardinals would pick Webb at 45 if there... I quickly deleted them from my contact list and burnt my phone.
There are a couple of things to take from this.
- Webb may be the A.J. McCarron of 2017. McCarron was told by multiple teams he was a first rounder. So many teams thought that in fact that they waited extra long and took him in the fifth round... Wow.
- I get dumb things sent to me all the time, 99% of the time I never say anything. 99.9% those dumb things don’t happen. Which means that two people could have talked with Webb’s agent and got the same line or... they really do have some interest. Only reason I said anything today is because it is semi relevant.
What do you think?
