With the 2017 NFL Draft just 17 days away, the Arizona Cardinals are doing their homework on some of the top quarterback prospects of this year’s draft class. The Cardinals are set to meet with Notre Dame Quarterback DeShone Kizer today, according to Ian Rapoport.

Here’s a look at his 2016 statistics (4-8 record):
- Passing: 212-361 58.7% 2,925 yards 26TD 9INT
- Rushing: 129Att 472 yards 8TD
Also reported earlier today by Ian Rapoport, the Arizona Cardinals are scheduled to meet with Clemson Quarterback Deshaun Watson on Wednesday.
Big week for #Clemson QB Deshaun Watson: He’s visiting the #49ers (No. 2) today and tomorrow, then has #AZCardinals on Wednesday, per source

Here’s a look at Watson’s 2016 statistics (14-1 record):
- Passing: 388-579 67% 4,593 yards 41TD 17INT
- Rushing: 165Att 629 yards 9TD
The Arizona Cardinals need a franchise quarterback, with uncertainty of aging Carson Palmer after the 2017 NFL season. The time is now to mentor and groom a quarterback for the future.
Clearly Deshaun Watson has the edge with his winning record and stats with the Clemson Tigers. Although DeShone Kizer struggled this past year with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, he has the perfect size and arm strength that the Cardinals want in a quarterback.
What are your thoughts on these two quarterback prospects?
Which quarterback will the Cardinals end up selecting with the 13th or 45th overall picks? Will they even draft quarterback in this upcoming draft?
