Arizona Cardinals 2017 NFL Draft Prospect Vote: Gareon Conley vs Tre’Davious White

With the 2017 NFL Draft now 17 days away, I thought it would be fun to introduce a daily poll of prospects.

That means, every day, two prospects will be pit against one another, from the same position, to figure out which 18 prospects the Arizona Cardinals fans prefer the most at pick 13.

The idea is that if we have 18, we should have a good shot at getting one on draft day.

Some will double up, quarterback, some will be names you aren’t sure about, and some will be hard decisions.

After three days, our prospect board, looks like this:

Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan
Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama
Jonathan Allen, DL Alabama

Allen barely edged out Malik McDowell in a great battle yesterday. I prefer MCDowell’s athleticism, size and upside, but understand the overall “safeness” of Allen. I just worry about players who plays with power... Who have shoulders so bad they were supposed to bench 225lbs 35+ times and barely got to 18. How long is Allen healthy? As a pure player, he is fantastic.

Gareon Conley versus Tre’Davious White.

Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State - Conley is one of the cleaner corners in this class. He doesn’t have anything off the field, he doesn’t have any medicals, his athletic testing checked every box... Oh, and his film was lights out.

The one area you worry about with Conley is can he play in the Arizona Cardinals aggressive defense, can he learn to use his hands consistently in press?

My buddy Brett Kollman had this to say:

Honestly if you put him in a room with PP and Badger, he'll be fine. Hand technique is the easiest thing to fix. His hips and feet are already pro ready.

Hands, that’s it.

Tre’Davious White, CB, LSU - No corner in this draft has as much experience playing in a defense like the Arizona Cardinals run as White. He is a talented press corner who can play consistently with his hands and mirror well with his feet.

The concern on White is, can he play outside in the NFL? Is he a slot guy or will he be able to play against bigger, longer and faster players?

Who would you want if the Arizona Cardinals took a cornerback at 13?
