Arizona Cardinals 2017 NFL Draft Prospect Vote: Malik Hooker vs Jamal Adams

Which safety would you prefer to fall to the Arizona Cardinals at 13?

With the 2017 NFL Draft now 14 days away, I thought it would be fun to introduce a daily poll of prospects.

That means, every day, two prospects will be pit against one another, from the same position, to figure out which 18 prospects the Arizona Cardinals fans prefer the most at pick 13.

The idea is that if we have 18, we should have a good shot at getting one on draft day.

Some will double up, quarterback, some will be names you aren’t sure about, and some will be hard decisions.

After three days, our prospect board, looks like this:

Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan
Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama
Jonathan Allen, DL, Alabama
Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State

Conley beat down fellow cornerback Tre’Davious White, which was surprising to me. It is not that I disagree with the choice, but the decisiveness was really interesting.

Today is all about... what prospect would you prefer to fall from their projected spot in the 2017 NFL Draft, Malik Hooker or Jamal Adams?

You may say, hey I want one of those guys over a couple of the players selected, don’t worry, once we get to the weekend, you will have a chance to save some players who have been voted off the island so far.

Why? Well there are not 36 players that need to be on this list, maybe 20-25, so we will have to repeat some. Some will be in faceoff battles (wait for the QB’s) while some will just be in save battles.

Anyways, onto today.

Malik Hooker, S, Ohio State - The most dynamic defensive back to come out in quite a few years, Hooker is the prototype, ball hawking safety. He has instincts, athleticism and a unique understanding on how to play the position in a single high alignment. We have seen him compared to players like... Ed Reed, Earl Thomas, etc.

Here’s the thing, that is a terrible comparison for him and a reason I strongly dislike singular comparisons. What happens if Hooker just becomes a Reggie Nelson or Reshad Jones, two Pro Bowl type players but not Hall of Famers? Will you be disappointed?

Jamal Adams, S, LSU - No player evokes more from his team in terms of leadership and on field emotion than Adams. He is as dynamic a leader as he is a player and that is something you see the Arizona Cardinals lacking right now.

Adams is a very good box safety, but has the ability to play in a single high formation and work well.

Both have been tied to top five picks, but safeties going that high is rare.

If one falls, which one would you prefer?
