With the 2017 NFL Draft now 14 days away, I thought it would be fun to introduce a daily poll of prospects.
That means, every day, two prospects will be pit against one another, from the same position, to figure out which 18 prospects the Arizona Cardinals fans prefer the most at pick 13.
The idea is that if we have 18, we should have a good shot at getting one on draft day.
Some will double up, quarterback, some will be names you aren’t sure about, and some will be hard decisions.
After three days, our prospect board, looks like this:
Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan
Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama
Jonathan Allen, DL, Alabama
Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State
Jamal Adams, S, LSU
Another surprising big win, this time with Jamal Adams. Adams dismantling of Malik Hooker shows the Cardinals fans desire for a player more in the mold of Tony Jefferson than Hooker being in the mold of... well no one Arizona has really had.
Onto today.
Mitch Trubisky: Not going to say much here, but I’ll quote some of Dink’s work and link if you want to read the whole thing:
Trubisky is an above average athlete with a filled out, 220-pound frame. He has a plus arm that can attack all levels of the field, and a great understanding of the pocket with ability to manipulate defenses with his eyes. As with the rest of the top quarterbacks, there will be questions about transitioning from a spread concept offense into an NFL O. Trubisky physically is near max at his age, and now it will come down to the staff in place maximizing the traits he brings to the table at the next level.
Patrick Mahomes II: Again, if you are interested in a full scouting report on Mahomes, check out what Dink had to say:
I am not a big “progression” guy as none of us know what QBs and coaches have decided on in meetings - who and where to attack - but we can see Mahomes II’s eyes and feet bounce around in the pocket from one side of the field to the other. He has taken a beating at times at Texas Tech, but is always upbeat and positive from this viewpoint with his teammates. He has the ability to elevate the play of the players around him. Inside the pocket, he is typically calm and moves without panicking.
