The Arizona Cardinals lost a lot in the 2017 free agency period.
Through the first two picks in the 2017 NFL Draft, they have done as much as possible to address that issue, and in the second round, they got the best defensive back in the 2017 NFL Draft with their selection of Budda Baker.
Baker is a bundle of energy from his defensive back position. He plays so much bigger than his listed 5-10, 195lbs frame. Which is good and bad.
He plays with a controlled recklessness, he is not afraid of anyone, he understands how to attack downhill versus the run game, he is an impact player, despite his limited frame.
Baker’s ability to affect the run game is what makes him better than anyone else in this class at the safety position, but the main question for any safety is, can they play in coverage?
For Baker, that is where the game seems to be easy:
Have gotten a lot of ?s asking about Budda Bakers size— KP (@KP_Show) January 7, 2017
1) size isn't a skill
2) he beats too many blocks & plays too hard to be worried pic.twitter.com/yf1wwqQamP
If there is a concern about Baker, it is, can his frame and style of play hold up to the NFL pounding?
That is something you are willing to find out when you can get a player of Baker’s caliber.
The best part?
Baker is a dynamic slot cornerback, similar to the Arizona Cardinals Tyrann Mathieu:

Baker is a special player, the Arizona Cardinals gave up a lot to get him, but he has the ability to make everyone forget about the cost.
