There is a sentiment among fans that the Arizona Cardinals need to address the cornerback position again in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Despite a number of mid tier investments in the position, the players opposite Patrick Peterson have been a bit of a revolving door.
Picking 13th in the 2017 NFL Draft may give the Cardinals an opportunity to address the position, but is there a player worth it?
I have said that Marshon Lattimore is the only corner in this draft that I believe is a top 20-25 prospect, which means that anyone at 13 not named Lattimore feels like a reach.
That said, there are a number of players being mocked to the Arizona Caridnals, one of them is Tre’Davious White.
The former LSU standout is one of the stickier covermen in the draft, honestly his ability to mirror and react is, for my money, the best of anyone right now. His refined technique and ability to understand and use his hands correctly in coverage actually makes him the ideal cornerback for a lot of NFL teams... in the slot.
That is where my disconnect is with the mock drafts. It seems like too many are projecting White, who I ranked as my third corner, to play outside, but I am not sure that is where his future lies in the NFL. He has adequate size, his speed is good but not great, but his lack of explosiveness is what worries me.
What do you think?
