The 2017 NFL Draft saw the Arizona Cardinals start with defense then go heavy on offense in the middle.
It was here where the story of the Cardinals is told, as the middle rounds are not about finding immediate value, outside of maybe on special teams, but instead about finding players who can be helpful down the line.
The immediate need for the Arizona Cardinals was obvious, they lost 3⁄4 of their starting secondary and chose not to bring back a number of other starters or contributors on that side of the ball.
On offense, not much could change, this year.
However, in the coming years, the Cardinals have holes all over the offensive side of the ball.
They need to find youth on the offensive line that can replace aging and expensive veterans in Jared Veldheer and Mike Iupati. They need to find young wide receivers, and even a second tight end.
That is too say, there are questions all over the offensive side of the ball that have nothing to do with who is under center.
The nice part is, that is the future.
