Earlier today, TMZ Sports reported that Vikings Wide Receiver (and former Cardinal) Michael Floyd tested positive for alcohol during his house arrest.

Floyd was arrested and charged with a DUI in December of 2016 and has been serving time in Arizona despite being a member of the Vikings. As a result of breaking his house arrest on alcohol, Floyd could potentially face hard jail time.

UPDATE (10:58 AM): Cardinals Insider Mike Jurecki reported on AZ Sports 98.7 that Floyd tested positive with a hermetic tea, also known as Kombucha, that contained traces of alcohol, and that Floyd also skipped a breathalyzer test.

Alcohol has been an issue for Floyd dating back to his days at Notre Dame. Here at Revenge of the Birds, we do hope that Floyd gets all the help he needs.

That said, given the harsh criticism that was given to Floyd publicly by Cardinals Owner Michael Bidwill following Floyd’s release last year, calling him “unapologetic.”

The Cardinals moved on from Floyd as a result and he signed with the Patriots for the last 2 games of the season.

Here’s hoping that Floyd can find a way to move on as well and get the help he needs, as his playing time this season, and possibly his career, might be hanging in the balance.
