Day two of the 2017 Arizona Cardinals training camp is in the books and we already have an idea of what the Cardinals are thinking heading into the season.
Carson Palmer took a day off, as the Cardinals head into padded practice for the first time on Monday and want to make sure their quarterback is ready to go.

It opened up the day for Drew Stanton to run with the first team offense and Blaine Gabbert to rotate in as well as get the bulk of the second team snaps.
All of this seems extremely planned and plotted for the Arizona Cardinals. They want to see what they have in Gabbert, they want to see Stanton in a starter role, and the overall experience is going to play out similarly in the regular season. I truly believe, unless Gabbert is a complete bust in preseason action, he's on this roster in 2017. A full year in the system is what the Cardinals tend to give everyone. So, why not Gabbert as well?

With Palmer off today, Drew Stanton is taking advantage of 1st team reps. Pretty sharp early on, with a nice deep ball to Golden included.

Here's the bad side of today, a lot of guys on the sideline:
Rolle and Bouka on the field with no helmet. Bouka not in walking boot or anything. Ankle issue appears to be minor.

Jaron Brown had helmet, but was on sideline with someone from training staff. Doing some running. Team is limiting his load for now

While Jaron Brown is not surprising, the team knows what they have in him and he's coming off an ACL, so bringing him along “slowly” is not an issue.
However, Elie Bouka and Jumal Rolle have a lot of competition and are not known quantities on this roster. Even missing one day could be a death knell in a tight competition with few roster spots.
Not much today, what did you see?
