Arizona Cardinals release first depth chart of 2017

Check out the first Arizona Cardinals depth chart of 2017.

The Arizona Cardinals have released their first depth chart and there are some nice little tidbits involved.

Check it out.

When you look at the offense to begin with the first thing my eyes are drawn to is Troy Niklas starting at the tight end two position.

The Cardinals are giving Niklas another shot to not only make the team, but to have an impact.

Outside of the Niklas position, seeing Kerwynn Williams and Chris Johnson share the running back two billing is quite interesting. Maybe it is a nod to how hard Williams has worked, maybe it is a push to keep CJ motivated, but it shows that the fight for the final 53 at running back is going to be a fun one.

Kaleb Johnson at the second team guard spot, how long does that last?

Defensively, the front line is of known quantities, while the second unit on the DL is the upside.

It is interesting that Rodney Gunter is back at nose tackle, where he was more successful his rookie season.

I really think this could be the end for Ed Stinson.

Scooby Wright is listed as the second team $LB, obviously that is while Deone Bucannon is out, but it will be fun to watch the battle between Wright and Gabe Martin once Deone is back.

Ronald Zamort is sitting at the backup spot behind Patrick Peterson (likely the fourth corner on the depth chart though). I really think the two weeks out for both Jumal Rolle and Ellie Bouka hurt their chances of making the roster.

How many safeties do the Cardinals keep? Harlan Miller (SS) and Rudy Ford (FS) are both third team, it will be fun to watch them fight it out. I wish Ironhead Gallon a speedy recovery.

For now, Matt Wile is in the lead at punter and J.J. Nelson at kick returner, which is a bit disappointing from T.J. Logan, but I’d wager Logan is in the spot game one.

What stood out to you?
