Cardinals Vs. Bears: What Will You Be Watching?

Tonight’s third preseason game between the Cardinals and Bears has plenty of interesting storylines, but who will you be watching the most?

The Arizona Cardinals are getting set to square off against the Chicago Bears tonight at University of Phoenix Stadium in the third (for the Cardinals, anyhow) preseason game of the 2017 season. While there are a ton of storylines we can watch for, here are some that I will be keeping a close eye on.

Mike Glennon vs. Mitchell Trubisky

Did I throw you for a curveball by picking a Bears storyline first on an Arizona Cardinals website? Too bad. This is by far my favorite storyline of this game. The Bears gave a ton of money to Glennon in the offseason to be their quarterback of the future, but then they also decided to trade up to the 2nd overall pick in the NFL Draft and take Trubisky. Trubisky has looked really good so far and could end up pushing Glennon for the starting job to begin the season. We will know more of how things will shake out after tonight’s game.

Robert Nkemdiche

Nkemdiche has been a force to be reckoned with so far through two preseason games. He has gotten consistent pressure in the backfield and looks like the star many thought he would be. If he keeps up this type of play, the Cardinals may not miss Calais Campbell as much as originally thought. Still, he has to keep it up and do it against better competition once the regular season hits.

The cornerback position

Justin Bethel has played really well in the first couple of preseason games and coaches have raved about him during training camp, but on the flip side, Steve Keim brought in Tramon Williams for a reason. Those two will be battling it out for the rights to get a lot of balls thrown their way since they will be playing across from Patrick Peterson. Also of importance is the status of Brandon Williams. There have been whispers that the team might end up cutting their 3rd round pick from last year already since they have seen little signs of improvement.

Those are my 3 biggest storylines/things I will be watching tonight. What about you? Let us know in the comments section.
