The Cardinals were beat soundly by the Broncos in the preseason finale.

The Arizona Cardinals came into their final preseaon game and you can see that a lot of these players were ready for the regular season.

The Cardinals were bludgeoned 30-2 by the Denver Broncos, in a game that didn't matter.

The offense started slow, thanks to some errant throws from Blaine Gabbert, but the defense responded.

Alex Bazzie had a sack for a safety and that was the extent of the offense for the Arizona Cardinals tonight.

Gabbert responded well though, bounced back and made some nice throws. That didn't matter, as bubble guys Jeremy Ross and Aaron Dobson each dropped good throws from Gabbert. Each player seemed to sign their pink slip out of town.

Defensively, we saw big time flashes from Cap Capi, again, Phillip Wheeler, Ryan Lewis and maybe most importantly, Rudy Ford.

Will Holden actually had a nice game as well, but the same cannot be said for Dorian Johnson.

The Trevor Knight lead offense made fans yearn for the days of Logan Thomas and Philip Sims, as Knight completed two passes, threw a pick six and was sacked one time in a forgettable night.

Elijhaa Penny had a very nice night, making the final decision a little more difficult, maybe.

The battle of the night was at punter and it looked to me like Matt Wile won the night and the position.

That doesn't mean that Wile is the punter, as rumors are swirling a player like Andy Lee could be available, but of the two who were on the team, it looks like Wile won the position.

Thank goodness the preseaon is over.
