With one move, the Arizona Cardinals 2017 running back room seems set, as the Cardinals have released the veteran on the roster, Chris Johnson.

With Johnson's release, the Cardinals have effectively went with all youth at the running back position, as fifth year veteran Andre Ellington will be the elder statesmen on the team.
It is not a shocking development, as Johnson has been plagued by injuries in his two seasons in Arizona while this preseaon, he looked a step slower. Add in the fumbles and the improved play of Andre Ellington and growth of Elijhaa Penny and the Cardinals know what they need from their running backs.
This doesn't even take into account Kerwynn Williams, who was a lock for the roster at this point with his role as kick and punt returner.
The Cardinals likely wanted to give Chris Johnson a little bit of an opportunity to catch on somewhere else, which is why he was released so soon.
Good luck out there to CJ2K.
