The Cardinals are entering their first game of the 2017 season.
But they’ll have to do it without their budding young defensive lineman. Per Ian Rapoport, the Cardinals are not expecting Robert Nkemdiche to suit up against the Lions today.
#Redskins WR Jamison Crowder (hip) is expected to play. ... #AZCardinals DT Robert Nkemdiche (calf) needs another week to get healthy -- W2.

While Cardinals fans likely feel confident that they can beat the Lions without Nkemdiche, the fact that he’s struggled to shake off this injury might be a concern for fans who remember the long times he was held out during his rookie training camp.
That said, having interior disruption is a big key to the Cardinals season, more than just one game against the Lions. And having Nkemdiche play against a team like the Dallas Cowboys is far more important than a team like the Lions, even if it is the first game of the season.
What are your thoughts on Nkemdiche not playing, Birdgang?
