In what saves the Arizona Cardinals and their fans another week, the Cardinals used a methodical offense and opportunistic defense to come from behind and beat the Colts in overtime.
Palmer was shaky, the offensive line was bad and the defense could not stop a third down play early, but the Cardinals dug deep and found a way.
The defense gave up only three points in the second half and overtime and we're extremely aggressive against Jacoby Brissett, the Colts young signal caller.
We saw Chandler Jones, Tyrann Mathieu and Budda Baker make key plays to keep the Cardinals close.
Then, when they needed it, Carson Palmer found a way to make plays.
It started with a 45 yard touchdown pass to J.J. Nelson to pull the Cards within three.
Then it was Nelson again, setting up the game tying field goal from Phil Dawson from 40 yards out.
Then the defense made another big play, as Chandler Jones sacked Brissett for the second time on the day, and the Colts would go three and out with 25 seconds to go.
This allowed Palmer and the offense enough time to make a quick throw to Jaron Brown who did the rest, took the ball down to the 30 and gave Phil Dawson a 42 yard field goal to win the game... And he missed.
That sent the game to overtime, where the Arizona Cardinals defense came up big again.
Tyrann Mathieu picked off a pass and it fave the Cards the ball inside the Colts 30.
This time, Dawson was nails, as the Cardinals escaped with a 16-13 win.
It was ugly, it was ineffective and it was the Cardinals first win of the 2017 NFL season.
They are on the board.
