J.J. Nelson is the NFC Offensive Player of the Week

The third year receiver joins an elite group of Cardinals in winning the award.

The Arizona Cardinals have not gotten off to the start offensively we were all expecting.

Injuries have certainly had something to do with that, but it also has been an issue in protecting Carson Palmer as well as Palmer making sound decisions.

What hasn't been lacking is the wide receiver play, mainly that of J.J. Nelson.

Nelson put up 5 catches for 120 yards and 1 touchdown in the Cardinals come back win, including the 45 yard touchdown catch from Carson Palmer.

This performance lead to Nelson winning NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

The honor is one that few have been bestowed as wide receivers playing for the Cardinals.

Nelson joins… Roy Green and Larry Fitzgerald as the only winners of the award in team history from the receiver position. That is rare air. It is also unbelievable that the Cardinals have only had two receivers in their history win the award before Nelson.

Congratulations Nelson, and good luck this weekend in a hopeful repeat performance.
