Arizona Cardinals week three player of the game

Here we are. 12 hours later and I think most fans, including myself, are still disappointed but less frustrated.

I still have yet to go back and watch some film on the game, but the glaring issues are still there. Poor offensive line play. Absolutely the biggest issue through three weeks. The poor line play did not stop Palmer and Fitzgerald from having a fantastic day, however, but was one of the reasons that brought our demise. Below are the candidates for the ROTB Game Ball.

Carson Palmer

Palmer posted a solid stat line. He finished the night with 325 yards, two touchdowns, no picks, and seven yards rushing. This was the first game in which he did not throw a pick this season. Palmer was pressured on 41.8% of his dropbacks which was good for seventh highest in week three.

Larry Fitzgerald

Everyone's favorite wide receiver was targeted 15 times, hauling in 13 of those. He racked up 149 yards and a touchdown as well. Fitz hauled in some crucial catches when the team needed him most, showing that veteran leadership and clutch playmaking time and time again.

Patrick Peterson

Peterson drew one of the toughest assignments in the game on Sunday. Dez Bryant. Bryant was held without a catch under Peterson's guard. The only target Peterson faced was a short pass to Ezekiel Elliot, in which Peterson gave up two yards. Peterson has been the definition of a shutdown corner this season.

Tyvon Branch

Branch allowed three of his five targets to be completed, but only for four yards. He had 10 tackles with six stops in the running game. He has been a pleasant surprise and has played well enough to play all the defensive snaps through two weeks. (Snap count numbers have not been updated yet so I cannot confirm three consecutive weeks).

Alex Boone

I want to add Boone to this list because he was the only offensive lineman to not allow a pressure on Palmer in week three. If there is truth to Boone being out, it is unfortunate for the Cardinals best offensive lineman.
