It is interesting that the two teams who were the heart of the NFC West over the last five seasons are changing things up, but that’s the NFL.

When the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers hired Sean McVay and Kyle Shanahan, they took a swing and so far, they’ve got a triple (Rams) and legged out a double (49ers) but you have to like the future of both.

Yet, for the Cardinals and Seahawks, the arms race has changed from getting new players, to changing out coaching staffs.

While the Seahawks are retaining Pete Carroll, they have fired their offensive coordinator and their offensive line coach and may be looking at a new defensive coordinator as well.

Yet, the Arizona Cardinals could be looking for an entire new staff depending on what happens with James Bettcher.

The question becomes, can they reload fast enough to keep up with and retake the NFC West over?

The question becomes for the Cardinals, can they find a quarterback and revamp their offense while their defense is still dominant?

For the Seahawks, they have Russell Wilson, now can they get him some help? Also, how healthy is their defense? They have dynamic players still at all levels, but is age catching up with them?

It’s going to be interesting to see how the Cardinals and Seahawks do in the NFC West coaching arms race. Clearly the Cardinals are at the bottom right now with no one on staff, but the Seahawks have to pull the right strings as well or both teams risk falling further behind the Rams and getting passed by the 49ers.

Who do you think comes out on top?
