The Arizona Cardinals have two obvious needs heading into the 2018 NFL Draft. The first is obviously the quarterback position, yet if they were to address that position in free agency, how would that affect their 2018 NFL Draft?

Dan Kadar of SB Nation’s Mocking the Draft did exactly that.

He mocked quarterback moves in the offseason, which allowed him to have an open decision with the 15th pick.

He addressed maybe the second most obvious need for the Cardinals.

15. Arizona Cardinals: Courtland Sutton, WR, SMU

If the Cardinals do secure a quarterback before the draft, they could look to help him out on offense. That could come on the offensive line or at wide receiver. Sutton isn’t the cleanest route runner, but he has good hands and size and a penchant for making spectacular receptions.

Now, Kadar wondered if Case Keenum would follow Pat Shurmur to Arizona, now we know that is unlikely, but that doesn’t mean the Cardinals can’t somehow. someway address the position not in the draft.

If they were to trade for an Alex Smith, or make a play for a Teddy Bridgewater, they could essentially address the position for 2018 and 2019 and give themselves an extra year at quarterback.

Sutton would be a great fit in terms of need, and my buddy and ROTB Draft Writer Justin Higdon looks at Sutton and sees a potential Josh Gordon like ceiling.

That would give the Cardinals a nice piece to play alongside, hopefully, then takeover from Larry Fitzgerald.

If the Cardinals added a veteran or young quarterback, then drafted a top end receiver prospect, how would you like that?
