The Arizona Cardinals are in search of a new defensive line coach, after parting ways with Brentson Buckner, as Steve Wilks continues to round out his staff.
A new, but familiar, name has surfaced for the vacant position and it is none other than former Cardinals’ defensive linemen Nick Eason.
I’m told look for Nick Eason to be Cardinals defensive line coach. Coaches Titans DL, played for Steelers, Cardinals in 9-year career.— Kent Somers (@kentsomers) January 27, 2018
Eason is a former nine-year veteran, who played for the Cardinals in the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
He began his coaching career as an assistant for the Cleveland Browns in 2013. Since then, he has been the Tennessee Titans defensive line coach. He has been credited for developing the Titans’ defensive line that has been top five unit against the run the past two seasons.
Although earlier reports stated that Don Johnson was expected to be the Cardinals defensive line coach, nothing has been official yet.
I know they were interested. Don’t think it’s a done deal— Kent Somers (@kentsomers) January 27, 2018
