It is the NFL’s version of Christmas Day.
Super Bowl 52 is on Sunday and to get you ready for it we’ve brought you a couple of topics to discuss:
Your favorite Super Bowl memory and where is your favorite place to watch the Super Bowl?
Today, the last topic is your favorite Super Bowl snack or meal.
For me, the menu on Sunday is simple and maybe my favorite meal on Earth.
To warm up, we do a number of dips. Buffalo Chicken Dip or as our friends that always supply it call it, Fat Man Dip.
From there, we usually have a spread of other dips, salsas, guacamole, spinach and artichoke dip, a plethora of goodness.
The main course is simple, yet perfect. Nothing says Super Bowl like an 18 lbs whole packer brisket from Costco. I fire up my smoker at midnight of game day and by half time, if not slightly before, it’s good to go.
The 18 hour smoke is key. A simple dalmatian rub (salt and pepper) in copious amounts followed by 18 hours of pecan wood mixed with just the faintest of hickory, melting away at 225°F. I’m not going to be able to finish this post.
Finally, dessert. There is always a dessert bar, but the main focus is on my wife’s Kentucky Butter Cake. Nothing is better to end the night with.
It’s a fantastic night to cheer against the New England Patriots. At least, that’s what it seems to be yearly.
What is your game day menu?
