Nothing says things are going well quite like a good old fashioned locker room split.
That is allegedly what is happening in Arizona with the Cardinals at this time.
According to AZCentral Sports’ Bob McManaman that is what is happening right now in the midst of one of the most trying starts to a season in Arizona Cardinals history.
“There’s a lot of unhappy players in the room,” he said on FOX Sports 910 this week.
That’s not surprising, players are emotional, they wabnt to win and the Cardinals have been doing everything but playing well and winning.
So, to hear that there are those unhappy with things is not surprising.
No, the bomb that was dropped by McManaman was a bit later:
“In talking to some players, I think it’s split as to whether they should have even gone to Josh Rosen,” McManaman said. “There’s a lot of guys that still wish they had Sam Bradford as their quarterback.
“A lot of guys still think their best chance to win, and those were direct quotes from people I’ve talked to, probably is to stay with Sam Bradford.”
Excuse me... What?
How do I stop this ride?
Now, I don’t think McManaman would say this stuff if it is untrue, however I have a hard time believing that anyone would be split on playing Bradford.
But, remember, when I said that players could look at Bradford being inactive as a sign that maybe they would not want to play for the Cardinals and a response in the comments was simply, players know he was playing bad a deserved to be benched... Maybe it is not quite that easy.
The NFL is fraternity, and many members of that fraternity have a different feel of what is happening. Maybe there is genuinely players that believe this, as hard as it is to fathom.
Either way, this is exactly the type of thing that happens before the season turns around, right?
