Kendall Wright’s time with the Arizona Cardinals has come to an end, according to Darren Urban of azcardinals.com
The Kendall Wright experiment is already over. @AZCardinals release him, promote CB Deatrick Nichols from practice squad:https://t.co/neDI6xv8S4

Less than two weeks ago, Wright was signed to a one-year deal to help the struggling receiver room of the Cardinals. In corresponding moves to the Wright signing, they released CB Deatrick Nichols and signed him to their practice squad after clearing waivers.
Now, things have flipped. Wright was shown the door and Nichols is the player that was given the contract as he was elevated from the practice squad.
It’s not clear whether or not Wright was struggling to pick up the playbook. But due to Tre Boston’s injury after being ruled out of tonight’s matchup with the Broncos, the Cardinals decided that the defensive backfield was the position that needed more help.
Wright could be brought back down the road and it’s still possible that they are considering adding Rishard Matthews, who visited the Cardinals less than a couple weeks ago.
Larry Fitzgerald, Christian Kirk, Chad Williams, and J.J. Nelson are the only receivers that have offensive snaps. Trent Sherfield has yet to play with the offense and that could change with the departure of Wright.
