Arizona Cardinals Patrick Peterson has requested a trade, per Adam Schefter

The Arizona Cardinals All Pro cornerback has seen enough and wants out of Arizona.

Well, things have officially gone from bad to worse for the Arizona Cardinals.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Arizona Cardinals All Pro cornerback Patrick Peterson has requested a trade by next Tuesday’s October, 30 trade deadline.

The problem for Peterson is that the Arizona Cardinals have no desire to make a move to lose their best defensive player and maybe best overall player.

As far as things go, this is one of the worst possible outcomes for the Cardinals and new head coach Steve Wilks, as this means the vision for the long-term, at least Peterson, is not there.

Peterson is in the midst of one of his best season, as he is currently the second rated cornerback in the NFL per Pro Football Focus and has seen a much more productive overall season than in years past.

Which begs the question, outside of the obvious of being on a 1-6 team, why?

The only answer that makes sense is that Peterson does not see this getting better quickly, and wants a fresh start.

Maybe that is reading too much into things, but if it was simply a desire to play for a winner, he likely would have started to have issues in 2016 and definitely in 2017.

What do you think?

Should the Cardinals cave to Peterson or should they hold strong?
