Week 8 NFL Power Rankings: Arizona Cardinals in first if you want to look at it that way

Through seven games the Arizona Cardinals have one win and are sitting near the bottom of the power rankings.

We are seven games into the NFL season and the power rankings for the Arizona Cardinals have not been this bad in nearly seven years.

That’s right, the Arizona Cardinals are at the bottom of nearly every set of power rankings from around the NFL.

However, if we want to flip the script, we can do that.

That’s right, the Arizona Cardinals enter today sitting at third, in the 2019 NFL Draft order.

So, the four teams in the NFL with one win are:

  1. New York Giants (1-6) .481 strength of schedule (SOS)
  2. San Francisco 49ers (1-6) .524 SOS
  3. Arizona Cardinals (1-6) .552 SOS
  4. Oakland Raiders (1-5) .545 SOS

That’s right, the Arizona Cardinals are near the top... of the 2019 NFL Draft order.

Yes, it is basically the inverse of the 2018 NFL Power Rankings, but it gives us something to be optimistic about in a season where things are beginning to really fall apart.

Oh, if you want to check out any power rankings, here are some of the weekly rundowns:

Vinnie Iver, Sporting News: Arizona Cardinals (31)

NBC Sports, Cam Ellis: Arizona Cardinals (31)

Paul Kasabian, Bleacher Report: Arizona Cardinals (31)

Rebecca Toback, SB Nation: Arizona Cardinals (31)

The Cardinals playing a good schedule has definitely hurt them in the chase for the first pick, but Jon Gruden also is upping the ante in order to secure that first pick.
