Amerson (6-1 205lbs) is a former second round pick out of N.C. State who has had an up and down career. He’s played for the Washington Redskins, Oakland Raiders, and most-recently the Kansas City Chiefs.
Although he was listed as the Chiefs’ third cornerback and was considered to be the big-time replacement for Marcus Peters, he struggled mightily during the preseason and was released as a result.
He did have his best season in 2015 with the Raiders, making 58 tackles, four interceptions, 25 pass defensed, a forced fumble, and a pick-six.
Entering his seventh year in the NFL, he has 251 career tackles, eight interceptions, 63 pass defensed, two forced fumbles, and two pick-six.
The other list of players the Cardinals brought in today includes CB Leonard Johnson, LB Thurston Armbrister, LB Terence Garvin, OT Rick Leonard, DT Tyrunn Walker and a visit from S Dexter McCoil.
