The Cardinals were blown out against the Falcons, but were rewarded with a 49ers win and now hold the first pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

With everything that has gone wrong today, one thing went right…

The Arizona Cardinals now hold the first pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

The Cardinals were tied for with the San Francisco 49ers in losses and strength of schedule, and the 49ers won the very convoluted tie-breaker scenario.

Today though, the San Francisco 49ers went and beat the Seattle Seahawks 26-23 in overtime.

That win puts the Arizona Cardinals into the driver’s seat for the first pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

The only challenger remaining for the first pick is the Oakland Raiders, who actually have a big lead on the Cardinals in terms of strength of schedule.

The first pick in the draft looks like it will be the talented pass rusher Nick Bosa out of Ohio State.

It gives the Cardinals a chance to also explore trading down if there is a team that would want to trade up for a quarterback.

In a terrible season, it may be a small silver lining.
