Chandler Jones announced on Tuesday that he is donating $20,000 to Phoenix Children’s Hospital for every sack he has in the final two games from the Arizona Cardinals.
From the team:
“We are going through a tough stretch right now but we all know there are people who are dealing with much tougher situations,” Jones said. “I’m happy to do this and it will give me even more incentive to finish the season strong.”
Jones has 12.0 sacks this season which ranks fourth in the NFC. He joins Washington’s Ryan Kerrigan the only players in the NFL with at least 11.0 sacks in each of the last three seasons (2016-18).
Since joining the Cardinals in 2016, Jones leads the NFL with 40.0 sacks and 56 tackles for loss. He has a sack in nine of 14 games this season and in 31 of 46 games since joining the Cardinals in 2016. During that span, no NFL player has more games with a sack than Jones.
It is a great gesture from one of the leaders of the team and something to be proud of in a season with little to be proud of.
Here’s to a five sack final two weeks for Chandler Jones.
