Arizona Cardinals to fire Steve Wilks at end of season per report

The Arizona Cardinals will be one and done with their head coach.

It'll only be one season for Steve Wilks as the Arizona Cardinals head coach.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Cardinals will part ways with Steve Wilks after the final game of the 2018 NFL season.

This is the news many have been waiting for and the question becomes if this is just the beginning of the Arizona Cardinals turnover, or if this is how Steve Keim saves his own job for 2019.

Wilks seemed overwhelmed from game one of the regular season and his tenure will be a forgettable one.

Coming off the most successful regular season stretch in team history, Wilks was expected to be able to get the ball rolling on another successful stint for the Arizona Cardinals.

What happened instead was a mismash of talent, combined with high expectations, huge amounts of injuries and a team that was woefully undermanned and under talented for a new and first time head coach.

It'll be one of the worst seasons on record in Cardinals history, which is saying something.

If this report is accurate, good luck to Coach Wilks in whatever he decides to pursue next.
