The 2018 NFL Combine starts in earnest Friday, when positional drills actually start.
However, there are two days of interviews with coaches and GM’s, media scrums with players and weigh-in and physicals in the preceding.
Moreover, there’s the speculation, the buzz and the reports.
Yet, when you cut out everything else the workouts are the real reason we are all here.
To see what type of athlete these one percenters are.
The timeline:
Day One: Registration ~ Hospital Pre-Exam & X-rays ~ Orientation ~ Interviews
Day Two: Measurements ~ Medical Examinations ~ Media ~ Interviews
Day Three: NFLPA Meeting ~ Psychological Testing ~ Bench Press ~ Interviews
Day Four: On-Field Workout (timing, stations, skill drills) ~ Departure from Indianapolis
The events they’ll be tested in:
- 40 yard dash
- Short shuttle
- Three-cone drill
- Bench
- Broad jump
- Vertical jump
That begs the question… what even is the most important?
Obviously, each position is a little different, but for me, the three-cone is the drill that I want to see everyone, sans QBs, do well in or else I start to have some questions.
What do you think?
