With the 2018 NFL Combine in full swing the Arizona Cardinals had their media time yesterday and what came out of it was strong… If you take a lot of coach and general manager speak as a strong statement.
Maybe the only really enlightening statement came from General Manager Steve Keim:
Cardinals GM Keim said they are in evaluation process with Honey Badger’s contract. Very noncommittal about picking up option

To which, Tyrann Mathieu responded:
It's a business https://t.co/1l5OPGuGOq

It comes on the heels of yesterday’s story on trying to figure out what Mathieu was talking about the day before, of gambling on himself this offseason.
Mathieu is being looked at by many as a viable option for release because of a $19 million guarantee that kicks in in a couple of weeks. However, the reality remains the cost savings in 2018 is minute, $4.8 million, for the production the team gets from him.
However, the kicker guarantee of 2019 is what scares everyone off.
Is Mathieu ready to waive that?
Is he ready to wave goodbye to his time in the desert?
Steve Keim was non-committal, that won’t change much over the next couple of days, but the big decision will come in a couple of weeks.
Let’s see what happens next.
