Adrian Peterson still has something left, just not likely to be with the Arizona Cardinals

New, comments

The Cardinals GM still thinks the veteran running back has something left, but talks about the need for versatility at the position.

What came out of the 2018 NFL Combine time with the Arizona Cardinals?

Well, with Steve Keim, he answered questions about Tyrann Mathieu, he also answered a question on Adrian Peterson.

It seems to be all but a foregone conclusion that Peterson will not be back in Arizona in 2018, but for Keim it's not about performance:

There’s no doubt Adrian still has some juice left in the tank, particularly from a run-skill standpoint - he still runs with a lot of anger and aggressiveness and has the type of contact balance you look for in that position

Keim still thinks there's something left in the tank for Peterson, but it's the fact that he only seems to be a use in the running game that causes the pause for Steve Keim:

but in today’s day and age, we all know you have to be able to catch the ball out of the backfield and do a lot of dfferent things. Versatility is a key.

It is unlikely to cost Peterson a place in the NFL Hall of Fame, but it will be the biggest factor in Peterson not bring an Arizona Cardinal in 2018.
