Bynes will be an integral part of the defensive transition the Arizona Cardinals will likely undergo with Steve Wilks and Al Holcomb in charge.
Bynes started only one game for the Cardinals but was productive as a sub and on teams.
He finished with one interception, two forced fumbles and 27 total tackles on the season and will likely be a fit as they move towards a 43 defense.
Bynes low salary plus versatility to play both inside linebacker positions in a 34, plus multiple positions in a 43 set.
He will allow the Cardinals to play multiple schemes on the second level and then as they need to, transition back and forth.
Bynes is also a well liked teammate and will be one of the vocal leaders on the team as they go through a bit of a re-tooling.
It won’t get much publicity, but this is a smart move by the Cardinals.
