The Arizona Cardinals are now very busy in free agency.
After clearing some space with the release of Tyrann Mathieu, they have filled that cap immediately by signing former Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Andre Smith.
Former Bengals’ OT Andre Smith is signing a two-year, $8 million deal that could be worth up to $10.2 million with the Arizona Cardinals, per source.

Smith is exactly what the Arizona Cardinals are looking for in offensive linemen. He graded out per Pro Football Focus 20th as a run blocker. He will likely be slated as a right tackle in Arizona, or maybe be asked to kick inside to right guard, but he will be a big bodied, road grading type for the run game.
He is not a good pass blocker, but that is why he is getting a very low deal in terms of per year salary, because he is a second tier type of tackle and not a guy that most teams will covet.
However, everything the Arizona Cardinals have done early in free agency on offense, two quarterbacks who take care of the ball and now a big time run blocking offensive lineman, fit the plan that Steve Wilks wants on offense.
