Justin Pugh leaves with offer, but not signed contract

The Cardinals made an offer, but the free agent guard is going to the Indianapolis Colts.

The Arizona Cardinals made a play for Justin Pugh and they are still in the game, but according to Ian Rapoport, the highly sought after free agent guard is going to see what the Indianapolis Colts have to offer.

This is one of those situations where a contract is going to determine things. The Cardinals are known to give a single offer and then let a player go out and see if they can do better. That is likely the case.

As we discussed yesterday, the reason is likely to be related to guaranteed money for Pugh, as he is a player coming off his worst season in his career, but also coming off multiple injury issues.

When healthy, he is among the best guards in the NFL, but he also is a key piece in the versatility of a teams offensive line.

Pugh would likely be the starting right guard in Arizona, so this is something to follow.
