With the Arizona Cardinals and the rest of the NFL a week into free agency, the Las Vegas books are coming out with updated Super Bowl LIII odds.
If you remember, after the Eagles won Super Bowl LII, Bovada had the Arizona Cardinals at a 50/1 odds to win the Super Bowl the next year.
Well, even after adding Sam Bradford and Justin Pugh, the Arizona Cardinals find themselves in... bad company.
The Cardinals now are alongside the likes of the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills with 66/1 odds to win Super Bowl LIII.
This is not surprising.
We have seen that the public perception of the Cardinals offseason and it hasn’t been overly positive, but for me, even someone skeptical of what the Cardinals are doing, isn’t a quarterback better than no quarterback?
Maybe the biggest disconnect is the loss of Tyrann Mathieu. You will not find a bigger Mathieu backer/supporter/believer than me, but can the loss of a slot cornerback really impact Super Bowl odds that much?
Bradford isn’t that bad of a quarterback, Pugh is an upgrade to the offensive line and nothing else changed outside of losing Mathieu...
Of course, that’s why Vegas is Vegas. If you really believe in the Cardinals, I guess this is a good bet for you.
