While the Arizona Cardinals have made a number of moves that have made some noise, one that went fairly under the radar was the release of Josh Mauro.
When the Arizona Cardinals parted ways with Josh Mauro it seemed like the right decision, as he was a cap hit that didn’t make much sense in the changing Cardinals defense.
Now, it appears it was just in time as he will serve a four game suspension in 2018.
Giants DE Josh Mauro has been suspended the first four games of 2018.

This is a big bullet dodged for the Arizona Cardinals, but also a peculiar timing for the suspension as Mauro had just signed with the Giants.
Mauro signed a one-year $880,000 deal with the Giants after the Cardinals were scheduled to pay him $3 million this year.
Mauro owned up to the entire thing as well, claiming it was for an over-the-counter pre-workout supplement that was banned.

It is a tough blow for Mauro, who was a well respected and liked teammate who was known for his hard work and intensity on the field.
Hopefully he is able to come back and make an impact for the Giants.
