There is a small rift that has been brewing and at this juncture it is about to explode.
The New York Giants and Odell Beckham Jr. are on the cusp of divorce as the Giants star wide receiver is demanding a new contract before he steps on the field again:
From @gmfb: My understanding is that #Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr will not set foot on a field without a new contract extension agreed to — with the #Giants or any team. ... This comes a day after owner John Mara said no one is “untouchable” in trade talks.

The last part is the kicker. The Giants have acknowledge that the All Pro wide receiver is not untouchable, without saying it directly.
That’s where the question comes in, would you be willing to trade for the highly combustible, yet unquestionably talented Beckham Jr if you’re the Arizona Cardinals?
If you are willing to trade for Beckham, it would likely be at a heavy price… Maybe a first and a big contract, five years $75-85 million, $35+ guaranteed.
Yet, it would undoubtedly answer the question of who the Cardinals next wide receiver one is. It would give the Cardinals a bridge moving forward for any quarterback, maybe the best wide receiver in the game and if they’re able to find a Kyle Lauletta or Mike White or move back into round one for a Lamar Jackson or Mason Rudolph, you’re arming them with an elite talent immediately.
Of course, you are assuming some risks.
- Beckham has a litany of missed games because of lower body injuries.
- He’s been known to be slightly… outlandish.
- It’s a lot of money.
However, he’s never been suspended by the NFL, he’s never been in any trouble off the field and he’s a great, great player.
Would you inquire about the cost if you’re the Arizona Cardinals?
