Revenge of the Birds user 2018 NFL Mock Draft: Cleveland Browns are back on the Clock

The Browns are back with their second top four pick, who do they take to pair with Sam Darnold?

After three picks, the quarterbacks are coming off the board fast in the Revenge of the Birds 2018 NFL user Mock Draft.

Despite much hand wringing after the fact, the first three picks go:

  1. Cleveland Browns - Sam Darnold, QB, USC
  2. New York Giants - Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA
  3. New York Jets - Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma

That brings us to the second first round pick for the Browns. They have their quarterback, they have their pass rusher from 2017 in Myles Garrett and they still have a ton of picks.

This is a prime position for a team that wants to move up, hello Buffalo or Arizona, but we won’t be doing that in this mock draft.

Meaning the Browns sit with the fourth pick and in my opinion, three options:

Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State - The player some pundits and fans want the Browns to take at one, with the move up from the Jets it almost becomes a lock he gets to the Browns at four now.

Bradley Chubb, DE, North Carolina St - Imagine a defense with Garrett and Chubb manning the edges for the next several years. Two of the better defensive end prospects to come out in the past decade.

Quenton Nelson, OG, Notre Dame - There is some roundabout thinking here, but let me try and explain. The Browns are set at guard, however they just lost their franchise left tackle in Joe Thomas to retirement. So, why take a guard? The thought is you can move Joel Bitonio, a left tackle at Nevada in college, back outside and let Nelson stay at guard. It may not make as much sense as Barkley or Chubb, but it likely keeps a strength a strength.
