With the 2018 NFL Combine in the books, one of the best parts was listening to Steve Wilks talk.
Over the next couple of days we’ll take a look at what Wilks had to say on a number of topics.
First, Wilks was asked about Chad Williams and what to think about the former third round pick.
Right now, I’m not going to indulge in talking personnel. We’re doing a great job right now of identifying exactly what we’re looking for from a standpoint of the roster. The coaches are doing a great job of evaluating tape and trying to formulate a plan moving forward.
This was a great way to address… nothing. It tells us that they know what they think and what they want at this point, but that doesn’t mean they’re going to tell us.
In fact, that’s why when reports surface on the Cardinals thoughts about players, take those with an entire salt shaker. They’re not going to divulge anything this early in the process. They want to play it close to the vest and they are exploring all their options.
As for Chad Williams, the new Head Coach didn’t have much to say, but John Brown did:
Chad ready to be a number 2 dude a beast he will be a number 1 pretty quick https://t.co/mjtatndiQn

That’s always a good thing when a guy who may be on his way out has something positive to say about the guy who likely is replacing him.
If Williams can step up in year two, it will answer a lot of questions for the Arizona Cardinals.
