Revenge of the Birds user 2018 NFL Mock Draft: Oakland Raiders are on the clock

The Oakland Raiders are on the clock, who will they take at ten?

NCAA Football: Michigan State at Michigan Mike Carter-USA TODAY Sports

We are nearly ten picks into the Revenge of the Birds 2018 NFL Mock Draft and the top nine off the board could comprise nine of the better players in the draft... and Josh Allen (I kid, I kid).

We get to the Oakland (Las Vegas) Raiders and the 10th pick in the draft. The Raiders have needs on defense and their offense got really old, really fast when they brought back Jon Gruden on a 10-year contract.

But first, here is how the board falls thus far.

The picks:

  1. Cleveland Browns - Sam Darnold, QB, USC
  2. New York Giants - Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA
  3. New York Jets - Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma
  4. Cleveland Browns - Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State
  5. Denver Broncos - Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming
  6. Indianapolis Colts - Bradley Chubb, DE, North Carolina St
  7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Quenton Nelson, OG, Notre Dame
  8. Chicago Bears - Tremaine Edmunds, LB, Virginia Tech
  9. San Francisco 49ers - Harold Landry, DE, Boston College

For the Raiders, it’ll be an interesting decision.

The prospects:

Roquan Smith, LB, Georgia - One of the most athletically gifted players in the class, the talented linebacker would fill an immediate need for the Raiders.

Connor Williams, OT, Texas - The top tackle in this class is Williams or the next candidate and the Raiders need help at right tackle and could use a left tackle soon with Donald Penn’s age.

Mike McGlinchey, OT, Notre Dame - See above.

Denzel Ward, CB, Ohio State - The Raiders need help on defense, all over, but maybe mostly at cornerback.

Josh Jackson, CB, Iowa - See above.

Maurice Hurst, DT, Michigan - One of the most disruptive players in the class... If the heart checks out.

Vita Vea, DT, Washington - If they don’t like the medicals on Hurst, Vea seems to be the next DT on most lists.

Calvin Ridley, WR, Alabama - The Raiders have made some moves in free agency, but may need to get younger as well.

Courtland Sutton, WR, SMU - See above.
