We are ten picks into the Revenge of the Birds 2018 NFL Mock Draft and all of a sudden we get to the really hard part.
After you voted for Roquan Smith for the Oakland Raiders, you bring up the Miami Dolphins.
Let’s look how the first ten picks have gone.
- Cleveland Browns - Sam Darnold, QB, USC
- New York Giants - Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA
- New York Jets - Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma
- Cleveland Browns - Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State
- Denver Broncos - Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming
- Indianapolis Colts - Bradley Chubb, DE, North Carolina St
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Quenton Nelson, OG, Notre Dame
- Chicago Bears - Tremaine Edmunds, LB, Virginia Tech
- San Francisco 49ers - Harold Landry, DE, Boston College
- Oakland Raiders - Roquan Smith, LB, Georgia
The Dolphins are one of the team allegedly interested in a quarterback, if they fall. Maybe that’s a false statement it a way to generate a trade partner, however they’re gone.
That leaves…
The Candidates:
Maurice Hurst, DT, Michigan - One of the most disruptive players in the class... If the heart checks out.
Vita Vea, DT, Washington - If they don’t like the medicals on Hurst, Vea seems to be the next DT on most lists.
Da'Ron Payne, DT, Alabama - Disruptive, consistent, and a three down player.
Derwin James, S, Florida State - Talented safety, can play multiple positions, is able to play in the box or in coverage, a potential difference maker.
Minkah Fitzpatrick, DB, Alabama - The other top safety, may not fit an immediate need but would give the Dolphins an infusion of youth.
Denzel Ward, CB, Ohio State - The top cornerback in the class is still available, do the Dolphins take him off the board?
