With the Arizona Cardinals in a state of transition on defense, one thing they need is depth. Whether they are playing in a base 4-3 or base 3-4 doesn’t matter, they have no one at the edge position behind presumed starters Chandler Jones and Markus Golden .
Moreover, they don’t know exactly when Markus Golden will be ready to play at 100%, coming off an ACL repair from October of last season.
That is why bringing in a veteran makes sense. Well, the Cardinals are now perusing the market.
Former Rams’ and Eagles’ LB Connor Barwin is scheduled to visit this week with the Arizona Cardinals, per source.

Barwin hasn’t played much of a defensive end position in the NFL, he has mostly played as a 3-4 outside linebacker and has been a steady player, especially over the last three years of his career.
He is not much of a pass rusher at this juncture in his career, but he is a strong player against the run and can offer some secondary rushing at this point.
He has 17 sacks over his last three seasons, including just five each of the last two years, but he is a guy who has stayed healthy and been a steadying influence. Two things the Cardinals could use.
