When the offseason began, one of the main focuses of the Arizona Cardinals was to find a cornerback to play opposite Patrick Peterson.
Whether that was another one year stop-gap or a potential longetrm solution, the Cardinals needed to find someone to pair up with their All Pro cornerback in Patrick Peterson.
Our own Walter Mitchell had hypothesized about bringing in Bashaud Breeland, the talented corner who had an off field injury that required surgery and cost him a lucrative contract with the Carolina Panthers.
Well, from Walt’s lips to Steve Keim’s ear, the Cardinals are now doing just that.
From NFL.com:
Breeland is scheduled Wednesday to visit the Indianapolis Colts, followed by a Thursday visit with the Arizona Cardinals, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport confirmed. ESPN’s Rob Demovsky first reported the news.
Breeland graded very well as a cornerback two in Washington according to Pro Football Focus, finishing 2017 with a 79. His coverage grade was even better, sitting at 80.1, or above average.
The 25 year old corner would give the Cardinals a prime option to start for now and maybe the future opposite Peterson, if his foot is healed.
What would you think about Breeland to Arizona?
