While the NFL season and mainstream fantasy drafts are still months away, there are a number of fantasy leagues already getting going.
One of the main things that has been happening within those fantasy leagues is that David Johnson is still what looks like a lock to be a top 3-5 pick in almost all fantasy leagues.
When Pro Football Focus ranked players heading into the 2018 NFL season for a PPR league, point per reception, Johnson still found his name in the top three of Jeff Ratcliffe’s 200:
3. David Johnson, RB, ARZ – Johnson returns from injury, but should see plenty of work as the Cards’ primary offensive weapon this year.
It is not just in PPR leagues where Johnson is getting top pick consideration.
In Fantasy Pro’s composite rankings in a standard 12-team league, Johnson is ranked fifth, as part of the tier one choices.
He joins Todd Gurley II, Le’Veon Bell, Ezekiel Elliot and Antonio Brown in the tier one category, meaning Johnson is still looked at in the fantasy community as an elite talent.
Despite missing an entire season, the expectations for Johnson in 2018 are massive.
Will he be able to live up to them? Barring injury, there is no reason to think that he won’t.
