Arizona Cardinals get high marks on 2015 NFL Draft re-grades

SI really liked what the Arizona Cardinals did in the 2015 NFL Draft.

The Arizona Cardinals were close to really screwing up.

As we saw on All or Nothing, the Cardinals were obsessed with Nebraska running back Ameer Abdullah during the 2015 NFL Draft and the stunned silence when the Detroit Lions moved up to take him told the story.

However, things work out for a reason and the Cardinals were saved from themselves because of it, being able to draft two players with dynamic ability instead or Abdullah and an unknown in round three.

It has earned the Cardinals high marks in Sports Illustrated’s 2015 NFL Draft re-grades:

This was a phenomenal draft for Arizona if you really think about it. D.J. Humphries is a suitable starting left tackle in the NFL, Markus Golden had 12.5 sacks in his last full NFL season, and David Johnson is a star at the running back position. To think the Cardinals were obsessed with Ameer Abdullah and angry when the Lions picked him right ahead of them. Life has a way of working out.

GRADE: A-

Add to that the Cardinals were able to nab Rodney Gunter and a dynamic J.J. Nelson in rounds four and five.

Obviously, Humphries health will determine the overall greatness of this class, but it’s looking like three players will get big second contract.
