As the Arizona Cardinals creep closer and closer to the beginning of training camp 2018, the news on the team is coming out more consistently.
Today, the team announced that three players will begin the season on the physically unable to perform list to begin the 2018 training camp period.
From the team:
The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has placed cornerback CHRIS CAMPBELL (ankle), defensive end MARKUS GOLDEN (knee) and tight end JERMAINE GRESHAM (achilles) on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list (PUP).
The only surprise on the list is that of rookie cornerback Chris Campbell, who some had hoped would be a potential player in the cornerback two competition.
On top of that, the Cardinals announced they have waived tight end Beau Sandland and signed tight end Chris Bazile to a contract.
From the team:
Bazile (6-4, 250) joins the Cardinals after spending time in the offseason with the Washington Redskins. The Metairie, LA native entered the league in 2016 out of Grambling State where he had 23 receptions for 351 yards and three touchdowns in three seasons at the school. Bazile was released by the Redskins on April 30.
