With the offseason in full swing, the Arizona Cardinals and the rest of the NFL is ready for training camp, but we have three weeks left to wait.
Which means we get plenty of different articles on rankings, lists as well as trades that should happen.
Bill Simmons “The Ringer” site did just that, proposing nine hypothetical trades for the NFL season.
Of course, there was nothing regarding the Arizona Cardinals, but there was four trades among NFC West teams that could really determine how the NFL season plays out.
FS Earl Thomas, Seahawks → Cowboys
DE Brandon Graham, Eagles → 49ers
DL Arik Armstead, 49ers → Browns
DE Dante Fowler, Jaguars → Rams
First off, the trade of Earl Thomas seems either completely unlikely or completely imminent, depending on the site you read.
However, this would clearly be helpful for the Arizona Cardinals. The rest would not be though.
Obviously Brandon Graham is a bit long in the tooth, but he would immediately upgrade the 49ers pass rush.
On the flipside, getting anything in return for a player that seems slightly out of place would be good.
Then there is the final one, which feels like overkill at this point. Why do the Rams need a young pass rusher to go with their two interior destroyers. Sure, Fowler has not lived up to the hype, but he went third overall for a reason, and now you are putting him on maybe the best defense in the NFL.
Would any of these trades make sense to you?
